"Under Pokemon Fad's Influence, Some Turn to Violence"
Philadelphia Daily News
The effects of Pokemon haven't only been those of happy memories and friends, Pokemon created tensions in youth culture that no one expected to see. Acts of violence may seem an unlikely occurrence in the playful world of Pokemon, but the false values given to the cards makes people want more, and the supply doesn't match the demand.
There have been muggings and stabbings of young children over a few cards of little monetary value. Most predict that like any fad though, Pokemon will come and go. There are much bigger threats in the world to
youth than a few violent acts enduced by a playing card game, and there is nothing to worry about.
